When I was growing up there was always a camera around. It was loaded with film and ready to go where my mom could grab it. At any moment there could be something worth taking pictures of. It didn’t matter if it was our first day of school, or if we happened to stop for burgers on a road trip – she wanted to capture it. To my mom every moment was worthy of a photo, because it involved the people that she loved.
Looking back this is what made me want to pick up a camera myself. This idea that people and moments matter is why I’m a photographer today. I have genuine love for this art form and the process of it. I was able to have a career in the photo retail and lab industry and earn a BFA degree in photography from Georgia State University. I’ve been shooting weddings and portraits professionally now for over 9 years and still feel incredibly lucky to be able to do what I’m passionate about and serve other people with it!
On top of that, I get to share it all with the love of my life, my wife Amanda. She’s an incredible artist (seriously she paints, draws, designs, and photographs!), and she cares about people and capturing their lives as much as I do. She’s the beautiful woman next to the goofy looking guy (me) in these photos.
